Throughout India people are struggling to defend their rights to healthy living conditions as well as access to health care.

Joining hands with these efforts, AID supports village health workers in remote and rural areas, programs to train government health workers to work more effectively, and efforts for right to food, water, land, forest and environmental justice.

Improving Services: Physicians and health workers serve in areas of need, model effective strategies and train others to replicate them.

Right to Health for All:  Communities demand health services as a right and to make the public health system accountable to the people.

Nourishment: People campaign for rations, anganwadi, sustainable agriculture, land rights and other means to ensure right to food, critical to health.

Prevention: Resource persons promote healthy practices and early detection to prevent disease and reduce morbidity.

Protecting the Environment: People fight pollution and deforestation to safeguard their land, water and air.
